Butler man in handcuffs escapes near Lyndora

Two Pennsylvania State Constables apprehended a suspect yesterday but before he could be transported, he escaped while in handcuffs.

A 37-year-old man escaped two state constables yesterday and now he is facing escape and resisting arrest charges, in addition to his already pending charges. Police say David Bemben, a Lyndora man, was the prime actor in the escape.

Probation officers were serving a warrant for multiple traffic violations and probation violations when Benben escaped with one of the constables handcuffs still attached to his arms. Benben fled into woods behind AK Steel, near Bessemer Avenue. A search dog was called in to follow his trail.

Bemben made his way back to his apartment, where he was greeted by several officers. A second escape was attempted but quickly failed,
