Breaking Featured Fire Calls Local News

Carbon Street; 3 hurt in Butler City house fire

KDKA-TV (CBS Local) was at the scene of a structure fire this morning. The fire was reported on Carbon Street, near Butler Memorial Hospital. Several callers dialed into the Butler County 911 Dispatch Center when flames and smoke were seen coming from inside of the house. 3 people escaped the blaze,  and were transported to Pittsburgh-region hospitals.

One victim was unresponsive when firefighters located the patient, and was flown by LifeFlight 4 from Butler Memorial Hospital to a nearby burn center. Two victims were transported via ground transport. As of this evening, no one is in critical condition.

Social media was trending during this frenzy. Butler Dispatch LLC was one of the first news outlets to confirm a structure fire was on-going, with reported injuries. A fake news page titled “Butler News” was posting false information, which caused panic by family members and friends. The owner of “Butler News”, which holds a very long and serious criminal record had no comment as to the serious allegations made online. A Butler City firefighter made a public post regarding “Butler News”.

More information can be seen on KDKA-TV tonight during the nightly news broadcasts.
