Large Cranberry Township house fire nearly spread out of control

Scanners were busy last night after emergency crews responded to a blaze at 7749 Franklin Road, just inside the Cranberry Township line. Crews worked vigorously to try and keep the exposures from catching fire, according to the radio report from Chief 21.

Fire trucks from Cranberry Township, Evans City, Harmony Fire District, Adams Area, Marshall (Allegheny) and Big Knob (Beaver) were on-scene. Portersville VFD was on-standby for Harmony and Middlesex was on stand-by for Adams Area.

Police units maintained traffic control as Franklin Road was shut down while tankers were filling up at the hydrant located at Franklin Road and Evans City Road on Main Street.

A violent neighbor who appeared to be a DUI got offensive with a fire police officer, soon police units handled the situation when the neighbor tried to push his way in.
