Car stolen in Butler City; man arrested

BUTLER, Pa. – State police in New Castle has arrested a man who is claimed to have stolen a car in Butler City around 8:30am this morning. Police say an unidentified man stole the vehicle from Joe’s Auto Repair on East Jefferson Street early this morning.

The suspect entered the build with a stuffed animal, and used the public restroom. The suspect stood 6-foot 3-inches tall according to witnesses. The suspect lunged for a key, and took off in a Toyota Corolla.

Butler 911 received a 911 call shortly after the theft to report a reckless driver on Route 422. That reckless driver was the teddy-bear bandit.

New Castle PSP arrested the man a few moments ago.
