Winfield VFD shutting down due to multiple issues

WINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. – After 30-years of service, the Winfield volunteer fire department will be closing it’s doors.

The township notied that the superviosrs had tried to work with the department for the past severla years, but the department would not comply.


Issues were mentioned such as low manpower, not enough volunteers, no training requirements, plus money issues.

Herman, Saxonburg, and Buffalo VFC will be covering their area including Cabot.
