City Auto Works owner arrested for fraudulent business

BUTLER, Pa. – A local automotive repair shop was under criminal investigation after police say, they charged double for half the work done.

In theory, when you take your vehicle to a repair shop, you expect the mechanic to be honest about what is wrong, and what they are placing. Police reports indicated the owner of City Auto Works allegedly charged an “out-of-towner” for 2 brake lines to be replaced. But the kicker is, only 1 brake line was replaced, but the person was charged for 2.

Patrick Rape is the owner of City Auto Works. He is a 62-year-old man in Oakland Township, a highly-respected figure in terms of local business owners.

But, he was arrested for 2 charges of deceptive business practices, theft by deception, and receiving stolen property.
