BREAKING: Garage/house fire in Chicora Borough

CHICORA, Pa. – A garage/house fire occurred on North Main Street in Chicora Borough shortly after 9:30pm on Monday evening. Crews as far away as East Butler and Sugar Creek responded to the incident.

Nearby residents said the fire started in the attached garage. They believe garbage cans started the blaze, and it nearly destroyed a pickup truck. The homeowner was luckily able to drive the vehicle out of the fire with minimal damage.

Crews had to ventilate the structure, to find hotspots. It is unknown of the official cause, or how much the damage total is. Many items were seen being carried out by firefighters that could be salvaged.
