BREAKING: Plane crash in Penn Township – video inside

PENN TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A pilot was injured when his homemade-experimental plane crashed just before landing at the Pittsburgh-Regional Airport (Butler Airport).

Police say the man had a large cut on his head from the impact of his aircraft hitting a field, just before a woods line. The aircraft took the man nearly 20-years to build, but only 1 day to crash it.

Butler County Emergency Services

The FAA has been in contact with the airport and units on-scene, including Butler County Emergency Services officials.

Crews from Penn Township VFD, Penn Township Police, Middlesex Township Police, Butler Ambulance Service, and Butler County Emergency Services were on-scene shortly after.
