Jimmy the Knife arrested in Butler City for assault

BUTLER CITY, Pa. – Jimmy the Knife, better known as James Joseph Tiani, was arrested for pulling a knife on a person. Tiani allegedly pulled a knife on a male over the weekend and threatened to kill him.

Around 2pm on Saturday, Butler City Police responded to a disturbance call on North Elm Street. Tiani reportedly ran into the victim near the Grapevine Center.

Tiani started calling the black racial names, and threatened to assault him. Then Tiani pulled out a knife, and reportedly held it towards the victim in a threatening manner.

Tiani is facing charges of terroristic threat, simple assault, and harassment. All are misdemeanors. He is also facing public drunkenness for an incident on Friday unrelated to this case.

Overall, Tiani is a career criminal spanning from Butler, Westmoreland, Venango, and Allegheny Counties. Some previous history includes public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, physical offense, theft of services, and more.
