State police investigating cat shot to death in Summit Township

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Sources tell Butler Dispatch LLC that a cat was shot to death in the area of Hays Lane in Summit Township last night. State police was called to the scene of the alleged crime.

According to our sources, Jacob Palatinus allegedly admitted to state police that he did shoot a cat with a firearm. Palatinus, who resides on Hays Lane and is a volunteer for Oneida Valley VFC, reportedly spoke to the responding trooper.

The case is currently under investigation. No further details could be provided to our outlet due to the nature of the crime, but Palatinus could be facing animal cruelty charges, along with discharging of a firearm.
