BUTLER, Pa. – This year there wasn’t a take hike… now next year, there likely is! The Butler Area School District board members are reviewing taxes.
The school is looking at a 1.56-mill increase. More info will come at the board meeting next week. But according to the superintendent, the budget is balanced and he doesn’t feel a tax-hike is needed.
Even though he doesn’t feel a tax-hike is needed, he did warn the board members of upcoming “heavy capital” projects being planned.
A vote was done and everyone agreed on the school board that the tax-hike should be implemented. The total millage with the tax-hike added would become 102.56-mill.
