JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – New details have been released in the tragic double-fatal crash involving a STAT Medevac PHRN, Nicole Gearhart.
According to WFMJ, Superior Ambulance Service arrived at the scene of the crash. Gearhart was a current employee of Superior, according to the news report.
“The crew on the scene attempted resuscitation efforts, but unfortunately they were futile” was quoted by WFMJ when they interviewed Doug Dick. Dick is the current owner of Superior Ambulance.
Sources tell Butler Dispatch that Gearhart started her career as a nurse at the Grove City Medical Center. After working at the medical center as a registered nurse, she decided to start into trauma and switched careers into EMS.
It was just until recently that Gearhart decided to switched to air medical services, and decided to join the flight crew as a flight nurse.
Tomorrow, Sunday, was going to be Gearhart’s first scheduled day at the Grove City Airport.
Sources tell Butler Dispatch that Gearhart had just dropped lunch off at the state police barracks for a trooper she was dating. She left the barracks with her 6 and 8-year-old daughters. Both were safe during the crash as they were restrained.
Moments after leaving the state police barracks she was involved in a head-on crash.
State police are investigating this crash, no reports were available.
