People charged with child falling from Butler City window

BUTLER CITY, Pa. – 2 people have been charged by the Butler City Police after a 2-year-old fell out of a window hours before the original 911 call was made.

Michael J. Blontz, 37 and Ruth N. Blontz, 37, are facing serious charges. Both, husband and wife, are facing felony child endangerment charges.

According to police sources, the 2-year-old child was on the second-story of the house along West Jefferson Street when he fell out of the window. He landed on a concrete pad below, thus breaking his pelvis and other substantial injuries.

The mother arrived on-scene and told officers that her child was left with the Blontz-couple to watch and care for him. The mother received a text message from Ruth Blontz that stated the child fell out of the window between 1am and 2am.

According to affidavits, Michael Blontz told Ruth to not call 911.
