Evans City woman tries to choke mother

FORWARD TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A 32-year-old Evans City woman was arrested after she allegedly attacked and strangled her own mother.

According to official police documents, Katherine Kelly attacked her mother at the Marburger’s Dairy Farm along Mars-Evans City Road in the township. The daughter reportedly attacked and tried to choke Margorie Kelly in the house.

Troopers investigated the area and Margorie. On Margorie, they found visible strangulation marks around her neck. Also found was a black and blue eye, plus broken blood vessels on the lip. Margorie told responding troopers that she had escaped from the house, and walked a mile barefoot to seek help.

Katherine was reportedly drinking that evening when her and her mother got into an altercation. Katherine pushed, shoved, kicked, and punch Margorie in the head many times.

Katherine is in the Butler County Prison but can be released on a $15,000 bail.
