Heavy traffic expected in I-79 road repair

Saturday and Sunday morning will cause traffic concerns for motorists

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Heavy traffic is expected to occur during this weekend as crews attempt to conduct road work on the interstate.

According to the PennDOT website, road work is schedule to resume on I-79 in Cranberry Township on Saturday.

Saturday Road Work

Work will be conducted between the hours of 6:00am and 12:00pm on I-79 southbound. Lanes may be restricted to just 1 lane of travel.

Sunday Road Work

Work will be conducted between the hours of 6:00am and 12:00pm on I-79 southbound. Lanes may be restricted to just 1 lane of travel.

Safety Concerns

PennDOT continues to stress the importance of putting down your cellular devices and stop the distractions. While crews are out working on the roads, distracted drivers are constantly veering off into equipment and crews.
